Dear list, mainly contest secretary's

It is that time of the year again when most of us sec's are trying in
vain to get a full band for our area contests, if we havent already got
one. And this means we have to do so FOUR weeks before hand, and every
year a large percentage of bands must struggle to sign players on time.

What I would like to know are your thoughts of this four week ruling.

 I am currently a Horn player short for the forth coming North West Area
on 11th March but the "signing on" form has to be submitted this
Saturday 10th February.
We will probably end up getting one, I hope!!!  But what if we don't!!!
I need to get the players card and form or even worst two photo's and a
new registration card for the latest Wednsday ( 7th Feb ) so that I have
chance to get it to the Registry to be stamped before Saturday's cut off
time.

Your thoughts would be be very much appreciated.
