I too know the nightmare of registering players so late, especially when they live 40 miles up the motorway, and everyone has to run round to get it sorted! But it can be done. Also, the registry will accept faxed applications as meeting the deadline, as long as the real thing is there shortly afterwards. I have had to do this a couple of times (thankfully not this year!) and I have found the registry to be only too helpful, as long as you tell them your deadline. Moving the deadline would only move the problem closer to the contest. And not having a deadline at all could leave you playerless with no time to do anything about it! Jud Bilton Band --
