Old news I know, I was out of the country while they did it.

On Sunday 11th February 2001 Youth Brass 2000 (current BBC Radio 2
Youth Brass Band Champions) under the baton of Chris Jeans, took part
in the Youth Brass Band Entertainment Festival of Great Britain
organised by Action Research in the Wintergardens and took the
following prizes:

Overall Winners!
PLUS
1st Prize in the Music section taking the Ruby Cup and 700
1st Prize for Entertainment - Joseph Tolan Shield and 350
Best Bass Section
Best Euphonium Section
Steve March (Euphonium) also took prize for 'Outstanding Soloist".

They didnt win:
Most entertaining Novelty Item
Best March
Best Soprano

Competition was stiff, and included Wardle Youth Band, Enderby Youth
Band and many other fine Youth Bands.  Ajudicators:  Gordon
Higginbottom and Geoffrey Whitam.
