In response to Jayne's e-mail, I'm one of the few members of the band who
play on their own instrument.  I've had it since I went to university, and I
find the security of knowing you'll always have an instrument to play on, no
matter who you're playing for, invaluable.

I do also have 'custody' of the band bass trombone at the moment, though (me
being the only bass trombonist), and I have to say I probably look after the
band one better than my own, simply because I know it is someone else's
property and I am only looking after it!
