The 6 1/2 is good for that type of playing, but try the comparable size
schilke, i foind that good for rnage but not for tone.  The Joseph Klier
mouthpiece from Tim Oldroyd is very good too.

Personally I use a 5g bach in my large bore trom.  and a bach 11 in my small
bore trom
