A few people came up to me at the weekend at the areas in Bradford to
congratulate me on being appointed the MD of the Weavers Brass having read
about it in the Bandsman.

Apart from the fact that the spelling of the surname of the appointee is
different from mine (he has no 'e' in his surname) I should point out that I have
no connection with the band and apart from a few guest appearances with other
bands (I helped Hatfield at the areas, and sit in on some bands around
Cambridge whilst working down there), I remain bandless.
