This piece was on our repertoire a few years back when I played with the
East London SA Youth Band.(15 - 30)

Very clever variations where original music is played from possibly a 5 of 6
note sequence of the original hymn tune.

Nice exposed percussion in a variation which demands accurate counting if
you are to play your entry in the correct place.

Great opportunities to hear crunching bass trombone notes in one variation
and a beautiful slow variation where the euphonium takes the melody. - the
whole tune is only heard in the last part of the music.

I've had a look at my CD collection and I am shocked to realise that I do
not have it but I am sure it is available on CD. You will enjoy playing it
and its very listenable
