Hi Connie......
There is a rather difficult flugelhorn solo written for Mark Walters formerly
of Grimethorpe called "Flight" by Philip Wilby. It's on a CD entitled "Wilby"
on the Doyen label. I think there is also a
march called "Heavenbound" in the Salvation Army repertoire. That may be
stretching it a little.
"Up Up and Away" by the Fifth Dimension and "Kites Are Fun" (Chris Dedrick) are
two good
tunes but I don't know if there are brass band arrangements of them.
After thinking about it some more here's a list of other possible titles......
Nightflight (symphonic Suite by Arthur Butterworth)
Night Flight To Madrid (Leslie - arranged by Stephens)
633 Squadron (Goodwin - I think that was a British Air Squadron)
Star Wars (John Williams arranged by Ray Farr)
The Wind Beneath My Wings (arr. Darrol Barry)
Flight of the BumbleBee (many versions)
Slipstream (march by Philip Sparke - I believe this refers to the stream of air
behind a jet plane)
Beyond The Blue Horizon (Soldiers of Christ - March.. Vernon Post NY SA
Journal)
Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star euphonium solo ( by Philip Catelinet... if you
can find it)
Journey Into Freedom - Eric Ball
Any Glenn Miller music he did for the USAF Orchestra (big band)
Star Dust (trombone solo)
I hope this helps.....
Good luck.....
