Although Roy Newsome states that this is definitely not the case - I reckon
that "Concorde" (available as cornet solo with band) was inspired by the
aircraft of the same name.  I believe that the music came out shortly after
the aircraft entered service.  I'd swear that the opening theme is meant to
be the Concorde gracefully soaring at high altitude - and anyone who can get
throught the Presto double tonguing section will know all about
supersonics...............
