Hi All,

I had an enquiry out of the blue about St Hilda's Band, I asked 'why me'
and part of a very polite email is reproduced below

'In answer to your question, I was searching google for anything to do
with St. Hilda's band, Marsden band or the national brass band
competition history when I came across your notice from a web ring that
mentioned St. Hilda's and I thought I would take a chance as this was
the only decent lead I have had so far. My dad asked me to look this
stuff up assuming it would be easy to find but it is proving harder than
expected. The person we are looking for is George Tom Watson who I think
was my dads grandad or any links that could help him verify the stories
he has been told.'

Can anyone on the list help?      Perhaps some of the silent 550 or
so!!!! ;-)

The archive that came up on Google is nearly 3 years ago - the lasting
power of the internet - somewhere our trivia seems to be stored
forever!!!!
