There are also a couple of proverbs about More Haste, and Repent at
Leisure......
Even if you have 20 applicants, never feel that you HAVE to appoint one of
them. You may well have to have a number of auditions for those deemed
'maybe'......and you may have to repeat the process all over again.

Ask them to bring along any arrangements or compositions of their own.
As far as CV/references - as there is such a shortage - why are they not
conducting at the moment?
If they have conducted before - in a year, what events did they conduct at.
Carrot and stick - how do they react to young/old/quiet/cantankerous?
Have an observer (with video camera?) who is not playing, but just looking at
the overall feel.

Any help, you know where we are.
