I think it depends much on the council. Many allocate their busking pitches
up to a year in advance, and in some cities there are buskers unions which
allocate in rotation those pitches to their members. Watch out for the
heavies.............
There is also a fine line about collecting, a tin/cap for people to throw
money in is OK, but in a public place the collector should not rattle the tin
and hold it out towards people.
It's a minefield - just wear a false beard !
