There is no cost for the licence and the procedure is very straight forward.
The main reason for the system is to ensure that the local council can limit
how many people are making collections at any one time. It's also helpful
for us because if we know the Salvation Army or some other organisation on
the High Street then we can divert our resources to collect elsewhere.

You need to nominate a responsible person and to report your takings to the
council when you have finished.
