The soprano solo that Mark Freeh is referring to that was written by Brian
Bowen is called "Angel Voices". Gordon Ward recorded it on a New York Staff
Band recording ("Music Makers", I think) over 10 years ago. It's never been
published, as far as I know.
It's rather esoteric and doesn't have instant audience impact, to be sure.
Peter Graham has done a lovely arrangement of the tune "To save a poor
sinner" for soprano solo which is published in the SA General Series - I
can't recall the proper title off the top of my head. Other SA soprano
cornet solos that have been published included "High Fidelity" (Bearcroft)
and "The Higher Plain" (Bulla).
