Re: What to do with a sop ?

Steve

You can't blame your son for aiming high. But remember:

1) sops are small and you won't need t buy a bigger car.
2) he sits a long way from you at band
3) he'll be able to get to the bar quickly for you (when he's old enough),
4) as you get older you'll not be able to hear all the squeaky high notes so his practice won't disturb you.
5) but he'll be able to hear you!
6) you can threaten him with the sop part to Prague to make him run errands for you.
7) you'll be able to make unfunny dad-type jokes about 'high scream cornets' and split personalities...
8) but he won't get them.
9) he won't hang around with dodgy, shifty (sorry)trombonists
10) there are no duets for soprano cornet and trombone.

That's enough!

David
Conductor and ex-sop.
