Have a look at expedia.co.uk for journey times. Norwich to Stevenage is
listed as 2 minutes longer than Norwich to Basildon. Norwich to Stevenage is
listed as 38 minutes longer than Stonesfield (W Oxon) to Stevenage, and a
similar difference for e.g. Brighton and Canterbury.

Is this really a big problem? Consider also the joys of the M25 :-).
