Do it! I guarentee you'll enjoy it - Mahler 1 is a real treat for Brass. Of course there is some waiting around whilst strings and wind eat some notes and when you're not playing it's an ace piece to enjoy. But without doubt, the brass are the icing on the cake. I played 1st trom part a few few years ago but I recall the bass trom part was good too. Wait for the big finale. Hope you have some good horn players too - I recall it requires 8! Mike Thorn.
