The 17th (Duke of Cambridge's) Lancers amalgamated with the 21st (Empress of India's Own) Lancers in 1922. To be more correct, the 21st were disbanded in 1920 and reconstituted in 1922 with the 17th. The "Death's Head" badge and motto "Death or Glory" belonged to the 17th. The 17th/21st amalgamated with the 16th/5th in 1993 to form the Queen's Royal Lancers with the famous "Death's Head" badge and motto "Death or Glory" retained. The Regimental March of the 17th was 'The White Lancers' since around 1900, I cannot find any reference to 'Death or Glory' ever being the Regimental March of any British Regiment. However, I do have a set of parts printed by B & H in the 1930's with R.B. Hall as composer.
