I have a student, who in the last few days has devolped a football shaped lump between her sternum and belly botton. She says it hurts a little after practicing, but then the pain goes away. As best that I can tell, she plays with textbook good technique. She has been to see a doctor already without much information gained there. The thought that it might be a hernea is not ruled out, but they don't think so. The lump feels firm, but hollow(from what I am told). Has anyone encountered something close to this, based on my vague description? We will probably move to the next step of seeing a surgeon soon, if necesary.
