> Also, can anybody suggest any methods to stop the kids losing their parts? Staples are good!! :-) For junior bands that I've been involved with (not to say that senior bands don't lose parts - but not quite so often), we've worked on the idea that there is no sin (and probably no illegality either) in working off photocopies while the originals sit in a locked cupboard in the bandroom. These tended to be school-based bands, so the copyright laws are a bit different. Have a talk to your local Library. They're always up-to-date on copyright issues and could help you check on the legality of doing this, but I can't imagine any copyright owner / publisher being concerned if you're scrupulous about only using photocopies of charts that are actually in your possession. Photocopying's a bit tedious, but so is looking for charts for 20 pieces when a whole folder is lost. Your missing charts will turn up - almost certainly filed with a different title - but not until a week after you get a replacement! Kids are good, but it's difficult to lose ALL the solo cornet parts. PS - sorry, can't help you with the particular chart. It's not in our library.
