RE: RE:oldest player

I'm not sure how old this person is but it's a rather nice story.

At the National Championships at Newcastle (Australia) 97 the
Fosters-Auckland Band (now Dalewool) were playing in the Gala Concert.
During the course of the concert it was mentioned that the last time the
nationals were in Newcastle was 50 years ago. Then Nigel Weeks (MD) was
commentating, he mentioned that Fosters was actually at that contest, 50
years ago. "And interestingly enough one of the members of that band is
playing second cornet with us today". And he introduced this member (I
can't remember the name) to the audience.

He received a great ovation.

It was nice to be there!
