Peter Parkes must be on the list somewhere.
We had Geoff Whitham for a rehearsal last night. He
might be knocking on but he spoke more music than I've
seen out of a lot of modern conductors.
In orchestras, the older you are the better you
become, maybe that's the way forward for banding. I
read an article recently about a top orchestra
appointed a 70 plus year guy as their princiapl
conductor on a 25 year contract. With an option for
an additional 25 years. Not surprisingly he didn;t
take up the option.
Cheers
Rich Walker (a spritely 31 and as many bands, before
Les says anything)
