Ladies & Gentlemen My band, Utah Premiere Brass, are performing Ireland's "A Downland Suite" in a couple of weeks. Do any of you "brains" out there - I bet David Lancaster is one of them :- ) - have any information that I can use regarding its history and use? This is a wonderful piece of music and I wonder why it doesn't seem to feature as a test piece any more. Perhaps it's because it doesn't require much percussion. A little like all Mozart and Beethoven symphonies then :- ). Oops!
