Surely if they are guests  in the band room then you have invited them and
then you want to charge them to use the facilities?.......

A guest player is someone you have asked to come to the rehearsal.

If they have asked about using the facilities for other reasons then a small
charge would not be unacceptable.

But not to ask a guest player to come to rehearsal and then say by the way we
are going to charge you One pound for 'helping' us.

If you had a guest conductor for the rehearsal, would you charge him for
using the music stand and music as well......
