Re: Instrument Cleaning

The way I always cleaned my Besson 700 Silver plated Euphonium is:

Dismantle and wash with warm water and shower gel. Rinse with warm water.
Clean dry with a silver cloth (I use the Boosey & Hawkes one)

There where times when some parts (esp. inner bell and area round water keys
or near bottom of valves) were extremely dirty due to saliva. In that case I
dissolve a very little bit of Autosol in warm water and clean with the
solution. Better not trying with autosol directly as it will harm the
plating.

Regarding mouthpiece. I clean it separately and more frequently in using hot
water.

I own my instrument for 8 years and using this method of cleaning I manage
to keep my instrument in a brand new looking condition.

Hope this will help anyway.

Regards from Malta.
