LOCAL DANCE BAND HELPS OUT LOCAL BRASS BAND !

    When the local 12 piece dance band "Anything Blows" heard about Long
Eaton Silver Prize Band' s fundraising to attend the National Brass Band
Championships of Great Britain In Dundee In September , they decided to
help.Long Eaton Silver Prize Band is hoping to raise =A33,500 in total!

    There is more than just a common love of music between the bands,
however as six members of the dance band are also members of the brass
band!
    They are Sharon Stansfield who conducts the brass band and plays
lead trumpet in the dance band, husband Robert who plays trombone in
both bands, brother Carl who plays principal euphonium in the brass band
and plays drums in the dance band, Carls wife Elma who plays trumpet in
the dance band and flugel in the brass band, Roy Varney who plays
trumpet and cornet and Steve Larwood who plays euphonium and trombone.
(James Dennis  Sharon's son, helps out the dance band on keyboards and
he plays principal cornet for the "Silver Prize")

    Anything Blows  dance band, who play music from the  1930s  to the
present day, have agreed to hold a dance at the Long Eaton Silver Prize
Band Club on Friday 230503 from 8.00pm till 11.00pm  and all the
proceeds will go to Long Eaton Silver Prize Band.
    It is open to the public and tickets are available at the club or
from Elma 0115 9391532  or Sharon  0115 8491942 or on the night, priced
=A33 or =A32 for concessions.
    There will also be a light buffet, a raffle, and other fundraising
activities  and the bands very own disco "Anything Rocks"

    Both bands are available to perform at all types of functions
