I'm back with the same question I ask every time this subject comes up. Why is it so imperative that we must have a recording of various test pieces?. I agree that it's not a bad idea to perhaps hear the piece , but what happens when and if it's an original written for a particular contest. Are we losing the ability to read a score?. If there is a obviously simple reason I haven't thought of then I will be very happy to be informed, thanks.
