RE: Double/Triple Tonguing.

In my experience the best time to introduce the younger players to multiple
tounging is when they can competently tounge a note in the correct fashion.
However the younger the player the easier it is to baffle them! Arban's
cornet method is one of the best tutor books to develop technique. The
longer you leave it the harder it is to produce a clean and even
double/triple sound. It is perhaps a good idea to teach the triple toung
(tu-tu-ku) first and when they can acheive this introduce the double
(tu-ku). Slow and steady tounging is nessacary at first then slowly build up
to a greater speed.
Hope this helps,

Mike
