I want to send out best wishes to everyone that attended and those who competed at the NABBA championships this past weekend. There was a lot of very fine playing. The standards seem to go up every year, but it seems to me that this year they took a significant leap in every division. There are several bands in both Challenge and Honors that should be competing in Championship. And the standards of the Championship division continue to rise, with several bands that are very competitive for the top award. I think this is fantastic and a very exciting time to be a part of American brass banding. New England was very impressive and took home a well-deserved victory in the Challenge division. You guys are a class act in every way. Sunshine Brass deserves high praise for a second place finish in their very first year in the Honors Division. I have always loved your musicality and was happy to see your success. I also want to send my congratulations to James Madison U on their Honors title. It is so great to see an organization come in with both barrels blazing, so to speak! You are setting new standards for us all. Bravo. Congratulations to all the bands in the Championship division. The competition here was very intense. My best wishes to all of you and I really enjoyed hearing what each band brought to the table. Just wondering what the latest party was? Chicago's was running till at least 3am ... ! Regards to all, Amy Nelson Chicago --
