John Gray wrote... <snip> scales and arpeggios, every articulation, slurred or not, working up from middle/low, a little higher each practice..<more snip>.... And learn a few tunes as well to play without music </snip> --- Yes John, I hear what you are saying, and you are right, but we only have about 5 or 6 sessions to do it in... and the point of her asking for help is not really the "what" or even the "how" but actually it's just the "someone else is going to listen to me, encourage me and give me some incentive to practice!" That's why I'm hoping for a few ideas that will take in some of the stuff on your list. If we can get her back in the habit of playing she can work on the rest herself in due course! I like the idea of "learning a few things to play without music" - that will probably work; I'll take you up on that one! J PS sorry about the HTML format. My stupid PC has lost the setting to automatically send stuff to the list in plain text. You can have me dealt with later. -- - - NJH Sheet Music, bandsman.co.uk/music.htm, id xpress, www.idxpress.co.uk, brass band insignia and uniform products, Just Brass, the on-line resource for the world of brass music www.justbrass.co.uk, Prima Arts, quality music for quality bands, www.prima-arts.co.uk, wax-recording.com, simply the best, most cost-effective and least stressful route to recording an album and eBay, the world's largest on-line market place, www.ebay.co.uk Free e-mail address with spam and virus removal, bandsman.co.uk/mail.htm
