Nigel Horne

Described by The Brass Band World Magazine^* as "a study for championship section bands in one movement lasting eight minutes", the piece is entitled "study" since it is a study both in more modern writing for the composer, and in playing for the performer. Don't be put off by the word "modern", the piece is approachable, and is strongly influenced by Stravinsky.

The piece is best for 1^st section or above and works well both as a test piece and as a climax to a concert programme of serious and progressive music.
