The Great Gate at Kiev is probably the best known movement from
the Pictures At An Exhibition Suite, which in turn is probably the best known
work by Modest Mussorgsky.
This transcription is playable by brass bands of most standards.
Unlike other transcriptions of this work that have been written for brass
band, this version is playable by nearly all bands, yet remains faithful to the
piano original (not Ravel's orchestral arrangement).
As recorded by the University of Warwick Brass Band on their Highlights CD
2003-2004.
