| Voyage conjures up pictures of a journey on an ocean going
steam liner.
A trombone sextet, it recalls
the minimalist style and has been scored for ATTTTB. The orchestration has been
chosen to reflect the tessitura of the parts.
The alto part isn't very
high and could be played by any reasonable tenor trombone player, however an
alto trombone is preferred on the part because of its lighter tone.
The fifth part
should not be played on a bass trombone, since that would affect the balance and
timbre of the group.
