Nigel Horne

Wollongong Band approached Nigel Horne because they have a large percussion section, who much of the time are underused. They have three percussionists, plus a timpani player, plus a learner.

The brief was to write a light piece with a Latin American feel, and this is the result.

The middle features a trombone solo, which has been cued in to the flugel part.

The piece will also find favour with more accomplished youth bands who often have an enlarged percussion section.
