Len, I feel you make a good point here. All too often there are first class musicians putting on excellent shows which fail to attract a the audience they deserve due them, simply because they starve themselves of "the oxygen of publicity" - now we *are* supposed to breathe in before we blow!!! Quite often I find it hard to learn what my own band is doing, let alone anyone else's. No chance for the average punter! Wouldn't it be nice for the BB list or some such to have a "Brass Band gig guide" service. This could accept submissions from people in a standard format (who what where when etc.) and present a browsable list - not too hard for you Java demons out there! We'd only need one to cover the globe. Any volunteers? Yours, having used up this weeks' one idea John Goodwin ++++++++++++++++++++++ Flugel, Egham Band (this week) http://www.egham.co.uk/band/ goodwinj@xxxxxxxxxx ---------- From: Len Turnbull To: Brass-Band@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Appearance Dates Date: 20 March 1998 22:29 Is there a common are or page that gives dates of competitions and / or performances of all bands . As a none band member but with an interest in listening to your good selves my only source at the moment is this list. You report on the history very well but it would be of interest probably not only to myself to know what the future events would be so that we may support you and have an entertaining day out. >From one of your prospective audience Len Turnbull -- unsubscribe or receive the list in digest form, mail a message of 'help' to listserver@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx -- unsubscribe or receive the list in digest form, mail a message of 'help' to listserver@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
