I presume that it was written shortly after the end of World War 2 to commemorate the Berlin air lift, and believe that it was later played at the fall of the Berlin Wall.> Berliner Luft was written well before WW2. Paul Lincke was a Berlin Cafe musician. He also wrote the 'Glow Worm'. I am not surprised that it was played at the coming down of the wall. When I was in Berlin 'Berliner Luft' was the unofficial anthem for Berlin. Although I don't believe it has been arranged for brass band I think it is available for "Fanfare" as well as "Harmonie" or concert band. The original publisher was a Berlin company whose name I cannot remember. However it may be worth contacting a german publishing company called Halter. I believe they may be in Karlsruhe. Good hunting. Ted Howard --
