RE: Trumpet/Cornet Mouthpiece Sizes



I started on a 3C on cornet, but quickly switched to trumpet and then to a
1C equivalent mouthpiece.  IMHO, a C cup is a good general purpose cup for a
trumpet, but a cornet played with one sounds more like a trumpet than a
cornet.  IMHO!

As I mentioned before, our whole cornet section (excepting possibly our sop)
uses Wick B and no letter cup mouthpieces, all deeper than a Bach A cup and
the NABBA judges generally seem to like our sound....QED?
