Steve, Tameside Overture was commissioned in 1981 (I think) by Tameside Council which is a place about 7 miles from Manchester. It was commisssioned for a brass band course which the council ran for young people up to the age of 21 with a band similar in size to the National Youth Band. Richard Dyson Whitburn Band --
