Hi all, I just wanted to share the following with the List members: As some of you may know, Nigel and Horne and his wife Sharon just returned from a holiday in Canada and the States. They made a point of stopping in Ottawa to visit our band, The Maple Leaf Brass Band. We had met Nigel about five years earlier. As well as having a good visit over a wet or two, we had a chance to rehearse three of Nigel's arrangements that he brought with him. The band really appreciated the opportunity to play some new music and I know that Nigel also appreciated the opportunity to have his music played. Many arrangers/composers know how difficult it can be sometimes to have their music played. We have two band members who write for us regularly and they have mentioned on a number of occasions how much they appreciate having a band willing to play -- and perform -- their music. I might mention that Nigel very generously donated his three arrangements to our library. On behalf of the Maple Leaf Brass Band, I would like to thank Nigel for his generosity. Nigel, you can be sure that Ottawa audiences will be hearing your music. Jim Gayfer Baritone Maple Leaf Brass Band --
