Parc and Dare Band are holding a festival of Brass this weekend at the Parc and Dare theatre in Treorchy south Wales. Clashing with the Whit Marches! Friday 8th Brass and Voices Parc and Dare with Treorchy Male Voice Soloists Denise Leigh and Jacqueline Boucher Programme includes new commissions of Four last songs Strauss, Finale from Mahler 8 & The Witches Sabbath by someone called Roy Newsome Saturday 9th features James Watson Includes a new work 'Concerto Melyn Coch' by Andrew Powell also new arrangement of Peter Graham's Aspects of Adiemus & Windows of the World. Masterclass at 4pm Sunday 10th features The Leyland Band with Robert Childs and Roy Newsome Afternoon workshop at 4pm Leyland take the first half of the concert and are joined by Parc and Dare for the 2nd half. Programme includes Howard Snell's Images of the Millenium and a new arrangement by Roy Newsome of Carmina Burana for double band Festival ends with double band playing The Pines of Rome. A few tickets still remain for this weekend at =A35. This is the first of an annual event funded by the Lottery.
