If you're in a brass band how can you avoid religion?
Even if you only use the red book for warm ups!! Has
your band ever played Christmas Carols, or a church
service?

If religion is part or all of the reason why someone
plays in a band, it's as good and valid a reason as
any, and their thoughts and comments have a place on a
brass band list. (In fact, how much music over the
centuries has been written in praise of God?)

I could ask what do endless postings about unknown
contests won by unknown bands in some unknown town
have to do with music? Haven't variations on "we wos
robbed" (despite the fact the authors were in the bar
and never heard the winner perform) have more of a
place on a whingers list than a brass band list?

But contests, like religion, are part of banding.
While sometimes of little interest to me, results and
other issues can be of great interest and importance
to other members, so I accept them with grace, a
smile, and the delete key!
