Hi David You were very close on the name...... Edrich Siebert (real name Stanley Smith Masters, 1903-84), was basically self taught and gained his experience until 1946 with military bands. He went on to became a prolific composer and arranger and wrote I believe over 1000 pieces.. Many of his publications were suited for young players and primarily for brass band, although he did write for military band and orchestra. He wrote many novelty pieces such as "Polished Brass" and "Bees-a-Buzzin" first as a (great little) quartet and later for full brass band. The Munn and Felton Quartet recorded "Bees-a-Buzzin" (circa 1957) on a Paxton 78RPM record and may have won the quartet contest with it. (Someone on the list may be more accurate) He also wrote " Follow The Band" and Brass Band Sketches among many others. I hope this helps.... Mark Freeh New York City --
