Re: Re: Bass Clef parts

I have also seen many tenor clef orchestral rentals with the names of notes
written in since those who learned only bass clef often have difficulty when
faced with the tenor clef. Those who learned the brass band transposed treble
clef have no problem, just change the key. The moral of the story is to learn
them all. It's not that hard and lets you play whatever they give you. Did a
brass band concert a couple of weeks ago with 1 bass clef chart on the program.
My son who sits beside me reminded me that it wasn't as high as it looked since
it was bass clef. Glad of the reminder. At the moment I have the goal of
learning both the alto clef and the alto trombone so I don't have to write the
names in when we get an alto clef chart and so I can play Beethoven. Slow going
so far - my almost 70 year old brain is not as flexible as it once was. Nor are
all my other parts.

Dave.
