On the way home tonight I was thinking of the subject of the choice of
test pieces and grading them. Opinions differ, of course, on what
to choose, but here for what it's worth is what I came up with. I
wonder if the standards are right or if there are better choices?

I tried to narrow it to one per section (and decided not to include
anything I wrote), but failed:

C) Contest Music
1) Severn Suite/Year of the Dragon/Spectrum/Passacaglia on a Theme of Brahms
2) Royal Parks/Salute to Youth
3) Dimensions/Resurgam
4) Little Suite for Brass (1)/Divertimento (Kelly)

I'm sure there are plenty of others, but I wanted to not ponder on
it too long.
