Yes John, I hear what you are saying, and you are right, but we only have
about 5 or 6 sessions to do it in... and the point of her asking for help is
not really the "what" or even the "how" but actually it's just the "someone
else is going to listen to me, encourage me and give me some incentive to
practice!" That's why I'm hoping for a few ideas that will take in some of
the stuff on your list. If we can get her back in the habit of playing she
can work on the rest herself in due course!

I like the idea of "learning a few things to play without music" - that will
probably work; I'll take you up on that one!
