  Hi Brian,

It is my understanding that this arrangement was done for Grimethorpe. =
I don't believe that it is published. It is a great piece and the =
Grimethorpe lads do a spectacular job with it. Good luck.

Is anyone able to provide information on this composition? It is the =
one where players progressively walk off stage leaving just the Bb bass =
to play a prolonged cadenza-like solo, after which the players return =
for the grand finale.

I think it was written by Hogarth Lear (Elgar Howarth) but I am not =
certain.

    Is it published?

    Hi Brian :)

I'm not sure what the actual music was so I can't help you there,

    However.....

We at The Marion City Band did this type of number with the =
euphonium playing the solo. The music we played was entitled "My Way". =
The band played it through once then repeated it, with respective band =
members leaving the stage one by one until only the soloist cornet =
player and the euphonium was left, then the solo cornet left leaving =
only the euphonium player on stage to finish the piece. Doing that =
brought the " house down" so to speak at our concert.

I think you can do that with any piece of music without having to =
look for a specific piece. We are going to do this again with =
"Everything I Do(I do For You)" with the solo horn being the designated =
player. The M D seems to think that the selected music would be ideal =
for performing this "walk off one by one" and repeating it until only =
the solo horn is left.

The actual piece of music you are after I know not, however I hope =
this is a bit of a help for you.
