A new range of brass instruments from Schreiber & Keilwerth made with
`historically correct tooling' will be unveiled in 2007.
The `York' line, produced in Schreiber & Keilwerth's Markneukirchen
plant in Vogtland, Germany, aims to produce what is being called a
`typical British brass band' sound. The line which runs from cornets
to tubs, will be manufactured using the tooling previously utilised
for Boosey & Hawkes and Besson instruments thanks to Schreiber &
Keilwerth's purchase of the equipment when Buffet Crampon bought the
Besson name. The 'York' range will be available in lacquer or silver
plate from February 2007.
