Bflat cornet or trumpet, 4ft (1.2m) plus the valves. Fundamental (natural) note Bflat 2nd line bass clef, hard to sound on these Bflat trombone, baritone etc 8ft (double = 1 octave) Fundamental (pedal) open note Bflat two lines and space below bass clef BBflat bass 16ft. Maybe "double" bass has fourth valve? "F" horn or trombone with "F" plug pulled or Euph w 4th valve down, 12 ft. All approximate. I am sure there must be a web site somewhere with all these on accurately. Bore affects tone/harmonics, not pitch, horns are conical start narrow get wider all the way along: trumpets and Tb cylindrical until near the bell. Older instruments were usually narrow bore, bright sound, trombones got bigger bore since about 1955 until everyone (well, a lot) got fed up with the slushy fat tone and compromised somewhere in between. Holton offer a trombone with different bores on the two halves of the slide. Pitch is also function of speed of sound which depends on air density and temperature, colder = flatter. Hence warm up your instrument with gentle breathing esp. when just come in from the cold.
