Manchester Non-competing band looking to expand and move forward.......Stretford Band is a non-competing band with an ethos based on providing fun music played well in communty surroundings.We are well known within our community, and manage to maintain a balanced program of engagements in parks as well as local concert halls and churches.Stretford is looking particularly for cornet players and trombonists, having said that all instrumentalists are welcome, and the emphasis is on enjoying playing in a relaxed environment. As a non-competing band, Stretford's philosophy is not about spending long periods of time working on one contest piece; more that we cover as much interesting music of our own choice as we can, and do it well. Stretford are now looking for a new Musical Director to take over from Ian Mitchell in the new year. Interested parties are cordially invited to come along to a rehearsal to have a look/listen, and get a feel for the nature of this unique and histori c band.
