After playing Demelza and Pie Jesu I have decided that I rather like the limelight- Well its not as if I didn't before!
I have a question for all you other bandies out there, do you know of anyother good Soprano Solos?
Cheers

Good old Holy City was always a winner for me on horn and I've heard it played by sop before. I've decided to retire from solo contests now (too much on with the band to practise solos!), so if you fancy an air varie Variations On A Welsh Theme will soon no longer be considered my signature tune (sorry for inflicting it on everyone for so long, but you have to admit the adjudicators always seemed to like it even when I played ****!!!).

It's probably a bit late now since it's for Christmas, but look at my "The Shepherd's Song", arranged from the Berlioz as a soprano solo.

well there's a nice arrangement of summertime, then the old faithful the lost chord. Denzil Stephens has published "A Selection Of Slow Melody Solos (for Eb instruments)" which consists of his arrangements of: my love is like a red red rose, berceuse de jocelyn, y deryn pur, to a wild rose, solveig's song; grieg, romance.

Una Furtiva Lagrima as played by Maurice Andre has just been arranged for Eb Soprano Cornet and available for sale.
There is also a nice arrangement of Lacio Chi Pianga by Handel as sung by Lesley Garrett and Charlotte Church.
Both are available from Prima.

I quite like cavilaria rusticana though Im not sure its a soprano solo asuch. Most people just play from the intermezzo.
When i was younger it inspired me to play soprano.
